Temple Town Tirupati

Tirupati located at the foothills of Tirumala is popularly known as Temple Town as it is dotted with several temples and the most famous among which are the Sri Govindaraja Swamy Temple, Goddess Alamelumanga Temple and Kapilateertham. Located 4kms from Tirupati, the goddess Alamelumanga Temple is a must visit after having darshan of Lord Sri Venkateswara at Tirumala.

Tirumala Seven Hills

Tirumala has many attractions, including Swamy Pushkarini, the sacred temple tank, akash Ganga, a perennial stream, which is believed to flow from the feet of the deity and Papavinasanam waterfalls are said to cleanse the sins of all those who bathe in its water. Then there is Sila Thoranam, a rare geographical arch and rock formation. It is a naturally formed arch of rock in the lakes of Rainbow Arch in Utah, United States and Cut Through in United Kingdom, the only two other places in the world.  Tirumala’s religious importance and its uncommon natural abundance makes it a pilgrim paradise.

Connectivity To Tirupati

Access is convenient to the Temple Town by air, rail and road. Regular flights are operated from Chennai, Delhi, Bangalore, Hyderabad, Thiruvanthapuram and Visakhapatnam. Tirupati is just five hours away from Chennai and Bangalore by rail. Four daily trains are operated from Hyderabad. Similarly, regular buses are operated by the State Road Transport Corporation as well.

Considering the anticipated growth in the region and development of the proposed satellite townships around the ring road and beyond, and the traffic thereby generated, an 8-lane divided carriage way is planned for a design life of 20 years.
